This is a six (6) session mental health education online program which is aimed at the parents, caregivers, and other family members of children or adolescents with a mental illness but is also applicable to those persons helping an adult loved one. NAMI Basics OnDemand is an adaptation of the in-person class offered by NAMI affiliates across the country. Its goals are:

  • To give the parent/caregiver the basic information necessary to take the best care possible of their child, their family, and themself.
     

  • To help the parent/caregiver cope with the impact that mental illness has in the child living with the illness and the entire family.
     

  • To provide tools for the parent/caregiver to use even after completing the program that will assist in making the best decisions possible for the care of the child.
